More and more people are camping with their pets these days and we think that is great. They are part of the family and they should have as much fun while camping as you do. There are a few things you can do to make sure things go smoothly for your pet so you all can be happy campers.
Be sure to carry the name and phone number of their regular Veterinarian. Also, carry their vaccination records with you, too. Just in case you have to make a quick trip to a Vet that is not familiar with your pet’s health history, having this information can be a lifesaver.
Bring their favorite leashes, feeding dishes, beds, and play toys. They will experience less anxiety in a new place if they have some of their favorite things around them.
If your pet needs medication, bring enough to get through your camping trip and maybe even some extra. You probably plan to travel home after your camping trip but, just in case you get delayed, having a little extra of your pet’s medications could come in handy.
Take some time to help your pet get used to the park. The new sounds and smells can be intimidating to the shy types. They should do fine and have a great trip which means you will to. Happy Camping to the whole family.
